4-Year-Old Struck, Killed By Ice Cream Truck In Hudson Valley
A 4-year-old boy was hit and killed by an ice cream truck in the Hudson Valley, according to police. The boy was struck in the Town of Thompson, which is just outside of Monticello, at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, said Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office. The boy was identified as Shmuel Gelis of Toms River, New Jersey. Police: School Employee In NYC Tried To Lure Child To Hudson Valley Hotel
A Brooklyn man who works for a Manhattan elementary school was charged with trying to lure a teenager to a Hudson Valley hotel for sex, state police’s Troop F Child Abuse Unit in Sullivan County said on Friday, March 16. Abraham Silverberg, 51, an employee at Public School 116, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with third-degree attempted rape and luring a child, both felonies, police said. Westchester Man Behind Bars After Upstate Heroin Bust
A White Plains man was busted for having 67 bags of heroin and other drugs during a traffic stop by Sullivan County Sheriff's deputies. Mykell Gray, 37, was arrested around 3 p.m. Sat., Dec. 30, after deputies stopped his vehicle for a violation on Route 42 in the Town of Thompson, said Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. During the stop, the deputy uncovered the heroin, in addition to 24 bags of crack cocaine and three cellphones, Chaboty said.
