Flooding Impacts Northern Westchester School District's Buses: All Students Must Be Picked Up As a result of severe flooding, a Northern Westchester school district's bus fleet will be unable to bring students home, requiring them all to be picked up. According to an announcement by Mount Pleasant Central School District Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo on Friday afternoon, Sept. 29, flooding at the district's bus yard has left all the vehicles unable to leave.  Because of this, all Mount Pleasant students will need to be picked up from school, Giarrizzo said. Fire Destroys One School Bus, Damages Others In Yorktown Heights A bus was destroyed and two others damaged when a two-alarm fire ripped through a bus storage and repair garage in Yorktown Heights. The fire was reported at 5:09 p.m. Wednesday at the Baumann & Sons Bus Corporation at 1701 Front St., according to the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department.
