$132K Project: New Downtown Crosswalks Coming To Peekskill Several new crosswalks will be coming to a downtown area in Northern Westchester as part of a $132,000 project meant to improve safety.  The new pedestrian crosswalks will be coming to downtown Peekskill as part of the city's ongoing $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative, according to New York State Sen. Peekskill Police dispatch said it's likely just one bear who was spotted multiple times Wednesday morning is moving around the area of Park Street. An animal control officer is making the bear is not bothering anyone, police said. Another bear, probably the same one, visited a home in Garrison (about eight miles north of Peekskill) on Tuesday.
