After serving nearly two decades in prison, a 54-year-old man's murder conviction has been vacated by a judge thanks to an investigation conducted by the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. Former City of Beacon detective Richard Sassi Jr. has lost another bid to have his conviction for falsely reporting a burglary in 2012 to avoid being caught in an affair thrown out.
