New York is joining the fight against fake news. Gov. Kathy Hochul unveiled the state’s first “Media Literacy” toolkit to help educators teach students how to critically analyze and assess information, particularly online. Schools Evacuated, Searched After Teacher Receives Bomb Threat In Westchester
A middle and high school in Westchester were evacuated and searched by authorities after a teacher was emailed a bomb threat, officials announced. Students at both Pelham Middle School and Pelham Memorial High School were evacuated and dismissed early on Monday, Nov. 20 after a teacher received a bomb threat over email, Pelham Superintendent Cheryl H. One of Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s top aides announced that he will be leaving upstate to take on a new job in Westchester. Brian Shea, the director of operations for the City of Albany is heading to Westchester, where he will serve as Rye’s newest assistant city manager beginning in February. Crews Work For Hours To Battle Blaze That Razed Cortlandt House
All hands were on deck for several hours as crews worked to safely extinguish a blaze that razed a house in Northern Westchester.
