ID Released For Man Killed After Car Crashes Off Ledge Near Train Station In Westchester The driver of a car who died after his vehicle fell nearly 40 feet off a gated embankment near a train station in Westchester has been identified. Joseph Kerker, 67, of New Rochelle, was killed when the Toyota he was driving veered off the road and through a fence late Saturday afternoon near the Mount Vernon East train station at the intersection of First Avenue and First Street, said the Mount Vernon Polie The MTA and Mount Vernon Police Department are working jointly to investigate the incident.  This is a developing story. The incident took place around 1 p.m.Friday in the parking lot of Metro-North’s North White Plains Yard, said Aaron Donovan, spokesman for the MTA.   MTA Police are investigating the cause.  There was no train involved and there is no impact to Metro-North train service.

Lane Closures Scheduled For Paving On Throgs Neck Bridge Motorists planning on traveling over the Throgs Neck Bridge this weekend may want to plan on taking an alternate route. The MTA announced that there will be closures on the Bronx-bound lanes this weekend at the Throgs Neck Bridge, beginning Friday, Sept. 28 and spanning through Monday, Oct. 1 in time for the morning commute. John B. Nuzzolo, of Newburgh, died Monday around 9:17 a.m.while removing the tree at 29 Maple Road, in Cornwall-on-Hudson. He was an employee of the MTA, and the Long Island Railroad, and was a former member of Local 38. Nuzzolo is survived by his wife Syndi and his two children Aryanna and John. ID Released For Person Struck, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley A 53-year-old man was hit and killed by a train Friday in Rockland County, according to MTA officials. Haroldo Mejia-Ramirez, address unknown, has been identified as the man hit and killed shortly after 1 a.m. Friday near the Nanuet/Spring Valley border, MTA officials said. The incident is under investigation by the MTA and is not believed to be a criminal act.
