Search Underway For Fisherman Whose Boat Capsized In Hudson Valley River Emergency crews were searching for a missing fisherman in the Hudson Valley Thursday afternoon, Sept. 8. State police and other first responders in Orange County were called at around 7:30 a.m. to an area of the Delaware River in the town of Deerpark with reports of a missing fisherman. Investigators determined that two men had been fishing on the river near Cherry Island State Park when their boat capsized. Area Woman Saved By Officers After Intentionally Driving Into River During Chase, Police Say A Hudson Valley woman who took police on a high-speed chase was saved by the officers who had been attempting to stop her after she intentionally crashed into a river, police say. The incident began around 7:49 p.m., Monday, June 21, in western Orange County. Port Jervis Officer Andrew Dillinger was conducting speed enforcement on East Main Street near the Port Jervis Middle School when he observed a gray Chrysler sedan driving 50 miles an hour in a 30 per hour zone on East Main Street. Youth Soccer Coach Jennifer Minihane, Mother Of Four, Dies At 38 Jennifer Banach Minihane, a billing specialist, youth soccer coach and mother of four who worked in Poughkeepsie and lived in Hyde Park, died on Nov. 19. She was 38.  She was born on June 11, 1980 in Newton, New Jersey the daughter of Joseph and Teresa Baird Banach. She graduated from Broome County Community College and continued her education at Marist College, earning her BA. She was one of the recipients of only 400 people to receive the New York State Chancellor’s Award.  She worked as a billing specialist for eRiver Neurology in Poughkeepsie.
