A plea to the public and a collaborative effort by area police departments led to the arrest of a man wanted on burglary and robbery charges. The incident began in Ulster County in the town of Saugerties when during the early morning hours of Friday, May 20, Saugerties Police received numerous calls reporting larcenies from unlocked vehicles. An explosive incident in New England ended with a fizzle as an area man can avoid most of a fine after admitting to igniting a blast that shook the ground for miles at a gender reveal party. Anthony Spinelli, of Kingston, New Hampshire, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct after setting off 80 pounds of the explosive Tannerite and blue chalk in an area quarry setting off an explosion that could be felt all the way to Massachusetts. Parents in New England hoping to be exploding with joy experienced a different kind of blast during a gender reveal that rocked homes in a 20-mile radius.
