'Get Fined, Walk Home': Police In Westchester Warn Against Illegal Dumping Police in a Westchester County city are urging people to stop illegal dumping if they want to avoid heavy fines and a long walk home.  Such was the fate of one unlawful pickup truck owner in Yonkers, who was caught illegally dumping on McLean Avenue on Wednesday night, Oct. 26, according to Yonkers Police. "Dump on Yonkers = Get Fined + Walk Home," Yonkers Police warned in an announcement along with a photo of the pickup truck, which was towed away by police.  Anyone who sees illegal dumping is asked to call (914) 377-DUMP (3867), Yonkers Police said.

Local Man Charged In Area Cemetery Boat Dumping Incident A man has been charged after a boat was allegedly illegally dumped near a cemetery in the Hudson Valley. The 19-foot boat was dumped in Putnam County on Friday, Sept. 2 in the area of the Union Valley Cemetery in Carmel. According to Lt. Michael Bodo of the Carmel Police, responding officers found a Sunbird Corsair dumped on cemetery property. After inspecting the vessel, officers found that all identifiable markings had been intentionally removed from the boat, Bodo said. Man Accused Of Dumping Construction Debris On Northern Westchester Roadway A Putnam County man has been issued a summons for allegedly dumping construction debris in the roadway in Northern Westchester County. Charles Valt, 48, of Garrison, was issued the summons for dumping on Wednesday, Nov. 18, after Yorktown Police received a report of the debris in the roadway on Baldwin Road, on Tuesday, Nov. 17. An investigation found the debris had been dumped on the side of the roadway and police were able to identify Valt as the person responsible,  Yorktown Police said. Shortly before 5:15 on Monday, July 16, the off-duty officer spotted 40-year-old Juan Valdovinos allegedly leaving the cans in a grassy area on Sweetfield Circle near Cypress Street, prompting him to alert his fellow officers.
