Toddler Dies In Hot Car, Woman Charged With Homicide In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley woman is facing homicide charges after a toddler died in a hot car. Sarah Carter, 34, of Monticello, was indicted for criminally negligent homicide by a Sullivan County jury on Friday, Jan. 24. Emergency crews were called to the Sleepy Hollow Apartment Complex in July 2024 for a child left in a vehicle. Officers located 2-year-old Antonio Suarez in a Ford Explorer suffering from cardiac arrest, according to New York State Police. Hudson Valley Father Pleads Guilty, Avoids Prison In Hot Car Deaths Of 1-Year-Old Twins
A father from the Hudson Valley will avoid prison time after pleading guilty in connection to the deaths of his twin toddlers who were left in a sweltering car last summer in New York City. Rockland County resident Juan Rodriguez, 39, of New City, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment in Bronx Criminal Court for his role in the deaths of his 1-year-old twins last year. Boy, 8, Dies After Boat Carrying Eight Flips Over In Area
An 8-year-old boy drowned after being underwater for some time when a boat carrying seven children and one adult flipped over in Haverstraw Bay. The incident took place around 1:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, about 100 feet off of Haverstraw Bay, said Rockland County Sheriff's Chief William Barbera. According to Barbera, the boat flipped over sending all eight occupants into the water. Most clung to the boat until help arrived, but the boy went underwater.
