NY Corrections Staff Sound Alarm After Officers, Nurses Given Narcan In Prison Drug Exposures Correction officers are demanding action after multiple staff and inmates were hospitalized from exposure to unknown substances at a Hudson Valley prison.  According to the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association, thirteen staff members and six inmates were treated at Fishkill Correctional Facility on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 15 and 16. Female Correction Officer Injured After Being Choked By Fishkill Correctional Facility Inmate A female correction officer was injured after a 54-year-old male inmate at Fishkill Correctional Facility allegedly charged at her and choked her. The officer, who was assigned to the mess hall, observed an inmate leave with bulges in his front pockets and went to confront him on Thursday, Feb. 7 around 9:30 a.m., authorities said. Woman Nabbed Attempting To Smuggle Drugs Into Fishkill Correctional Facility, Police Say A 48-year-old woman was nabbed trying to smuggle drugs into the Fishkill Correctional Facility, according to state police. Diana Guzman of the Bronx was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 3, for attempting to bring 18.3 grams of synthetic marijuana, and 85 sublingual suboxone strips into Fishkill Correctional Facility, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
