Joseph A. Sinagra of the Saugerties PD in Ulster County was sworn in during the annual conference in Albany. He succeeds Chief Kevin Sylvester of the Ossining PD. New Police Chief Takes Command In Rockland County There's a new police chief in Rockland County, a man who has served as a police officer in the Hudson Valley for more than 34 years. Interim Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker was selected to serve as the next chief of the town of Clarkstown following a vote by Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann and the Town Board on Thursday, Aug. 5. Longtime Officer Promoted Chief Of Town of Poughkeepsie Police Longtime Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Kevin P. Faber has been promoted to police chief. Faber joined the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department in 1991, bringing with him a background in engineering and mathematics, said Capt. Michael O'Dowd. He succeeds Ronald J. Spero, Jr., who was chief from May 20, 2015, to Aug. 30.
