Young Dog Euthanized Two Weeks After Being Found Tied To Tree Found Off I-84 An abandoned dog found tied to a tree off a busy stretch off I-84 by work crews last month, has been euthanized after developing breathing problems from injuries believed to be caused by a choker collar he was restrained with. Pesci, the lovable dog who gained national attention was found around 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, July 24, by a work crew getting ready to mow along the highway in East Fishkill when they heard what sounded like a dog barking in the nearby woods, state police said.
