Santa Claus is coming to Yorktown this weekend, and he’s bringing a host of road closures for the annual Holiday Lights parade. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble announced that “to provide for the safety of parade participants and spectators,” there will be road closures beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. Italian culture will be at the forefront in Yorktown as officials prepare for the popular annual Yorktown Feast of San Gennaro, leading to road closures in the area. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble announced that from 7 a.m. through noon beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 12, Commerce Street will be closed until Monday, Sept. 17. During the festivities, there will be no vehicular traffic between Downing Drive and Kear Street. There will be temporary road closures in Yorktown on Wednesday night, June 20 as officials get set to celebrate the Yorktown Heights Engine Company No. 1 at its annual parade and carnival. Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble issued an alert to residents on Monday warning that beginning at approximately 6:45 p.m., several roads will be closed in the town through the conclusion of the parade’s route. Woman Charged With Violating Order Of Protection In Yorktown
A Dutchess County woman has been remanded into the custody of the Westchester County Department of Corrections after allegedly violating a Temporary Order of Protection issued in Putnam, according to police in Yorktown. Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, officers from the Yorktown Police Department were dispatched to the Kmart parking lot on Downing Drive, where there was a report of two people arguing in a vehicle. Road Closures Announced For Yorktown Memorial Parade
While the nation celebrates service men and women on Memorial Day over the holiday weekend, there will be several road closures in Yorktown for the annual parade.
