3 Dogs Left Behind By Mahopac Woman Killed In Crash Need New Home
The death of a Putnam County woman in a tragic car crash in Connecticut has left her three well-loved dogs in need of a new home.
Diane K. Staab, age 62, was killed on Monday, Jan. 13, in a head-on crash on Ball Pond Road in New Fairfield, Connecticut, according to Connecticut State Police.
Following her sudden death, Staab’s two Rottweilers, Saffron Star and Grace Bee, and a smaller Pomeranian are being cared for by friends on a temporary basis, but they need a permanent home, Hudson Valley Rottie Rescue announced in a social media post on Thursday, Jan. 16.

Westchester is about to get some tail-wagging representation in one of the cutest competitions of the year: Animal Planet's "Puppy Bowl XXI."
Two dogs from Briarcliff Manor-based SPCA Westchester, Andy and Meatball, will take the field during the annual event airing on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m., the organization announced.
Andy, a "shaggy boy," and Meatball, described as "ever-so-handsome," will represent the shelter as they play for either Team Ruff or Team Fluff in the beloved feel-good sports competition, SPCA officials said.

A Hudson Valley woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly hitting a dog with her car and fleeing the scene, leaving the severely injured pet to suffer, authorities said.
