State Police identified human remains found off a New York highway as Doh Soe, investigators announced on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2025.
DOT workers found the remains near a culvert during repairs along State Route 36 in Dansville (Steuben County) on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, police said. Through forensic analysis, the remains were confirmed to be Soe, a Burmese refugee known within Rochester’s Burmese community, police said.

Keri Mazzuca, 52, of Altamont, was sentenced to 25 years in prison in Albany County Court on Friday, April 18, after pleading guilty to manslaughter and tampering with evidence in the 1997 death of her newborn son, known as "Baby Moses."

DNA Technology Leads To Arraignment Of Serial Killer For 1968 Murder Of Woman At NY Mall
A 75-year-old convicted serial killer has been charged with the 1968 murder of a woman on Long Island in the parking lot of a popular mall thanks to DNA technology.
Richard Cottingham, of the South Woods State Prison in Bridgeton, New Jersey, was arraigned virtually on Wednesday, June 22, on a grand jury indictment, charging him with one count of murder, said Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly.
According to the investigation, Diane Cusick, age 23, then a resident of New Hyde Park, was an instructor at a dancing school in Oceanside.
