Soon after Cait Conley secured the Democratic nomination in NY-17 and defeated opponent Beth Davidson, incumbent Rep. Mike Lawler challenged her to six televised debates ahead of November's closely watched congressional race.

Thomas Dinan, a police officer in West Milford, died on Tuesday, July 30, 10 days after his 66th birthday, the department announced.
