The construction project on Salt Point Turnpike Bridge over Wappinger Creek is officially underway as of Tuesday, April 16, the New York State Department of Transportation says. The $3.2 million project is intended to improve safety and mobility. It will replace the bridge over Wappinger Creek in the hamlet of Salt Point, Town of Pleasant Valley, Dutchess County. Monthslong Palmer Road Bridge Closure Set To Start

A paperwork snafu is expected has led to ballooning construction costs for a renovation and expansion of a Mount Kisco firehouse. The architectural firm that was hired for the Green Street firehouse was nearly 4,000-square-feet off in measuring the area, making their estimated cost for the renovation short by approximately $1.6 million. A lane closure on I-84 will continue Wednesday afternoon through late Thursday afternoon as crews perform construction activities in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert on Halloween warning that the eastbound right lane of the interstate in Orange County will be closed until approximately 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 between exit 5 (Route 208) and exit 5A (Route 747) in Newburgh.
