Woman Killed Crossing Busy Hudson Valley Roadway, Police Say A woman was killed after she was struck by a Jeep Wrangler crossing a busy roadway. The incident took place around 3:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Dutchess County in the City of Beacon. The woman was crossing Main Street and Teller Avenue when she was struck by a vehicle, said Detective Sergeant Jason Johnson, of the City of Beacon Police. The woman was treated on the scene by the City of Beacon Fire Department and transported to St. Luke’s Hospital by Mobile Life.  She was later transferred to Westchester Medical Center where she died from her injuries, Johnson s…

Boater Found Clinging To Side Of Vessel In Hudson River Rescued A man was rescued from the Hudson River after he was heard yelling for help. The incident took place around 11:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, in Dutchess County. City of Beacon Police officers responded to Red Flynn Drive near the Sloop Club for a man reported to be yelling for help, said Det. Sgt. Jason Johnson. Officers located a capsized rowboat in the river approximately 20 yards from land with a man clinging to it, Johnson said. Eric R. Johnson, 25, was arrested Friday in connection with an armed robbery in the Town of Fishkill which occurred on Feb. 26, said Capt. John Watterson.
