Helmet Saves Child From Serious Injury After Taxi Crash In NY: Report A child escaped serious injury after being struck by a taxi while riding a bicycle in Rockland County.  The incident happened on Thursday, Sept. 18, at the intersection of Route 306 and Edison Court in Monsey, where emergency responders from Rockland Hatzoloh and the Ramapo Police Department were called to the scene, The Monsey Scoop reported. Firework Detonation Blows Off Boy’s Fingers In NY (Developing) A child was purportedly seriously injured late Tuesday afternoon, July 29, in a fireworks incident in Middletown, according to developing reports. The boy, who neighbors estimate to be around 12 years old, was airlifted to the hospital after emergency crews responded to Emma and Ashley Avenues around 5 p.m., according to incident reporter Mark Lieb of Rockland Video Productions. A helicopter took off from Monhagen Middle School shortly after the incident to transport the child for emergency care.
