Wappingers Teacher, Spackenkill Coach Greg Diamond Dies At 29 Gregory Andrew Diamond, 29, a popular teacher and coach at John Jay and Roy C. Ketcham high schools, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 30, at his home in Poughkeepsie. The cause of his death has not been released. Born on April 28, 1988, in Newburgh, to Lawrence and Andrea (Lapidus) Diamond, the math teacher and JV boys basketball coach at Spackenkill and an assistant varsity coach, graduated from Spackenkill High School in 2006 and was part of their state championship baseball team.  He continued his love of playing baseball at Mount St. Mary College where he graduated with his master's …
