PEEKSKILL, N.Y. Peekskill High School class of 2012 Salutatorian Jenesis Marilu Gallego Tenesaca was among those that spoke at Sunday's graduation ceremony.
Jenesis and her twin sister, Valedictorian Jennifer Tenesaca, have received the top academic honors at Peekskill High School. The two students grade point averages are separated by only 0.31 points.
Jenesis and Jennifer Tenesaca are the only children of Angel and Maria Gallego. They both attended the Peekskill City School District all the way through, performing at the top of their class throughout high school.
Both girls were elected to the National Honor Society in their junior year and have pursued a strong interest in science, with both participating in Peekskills Authentic Science Research program for the past three years.
Jenesis is interested in arts and sciences and will attend New York University and is planning to major in architecture.
