The Peekskill Democratic City Committee-event on June 20 brought in support from Mayor Mary Foster, Deputy Mayor Drew Claxton, Council members Andrew Torres and Marybeth McGowan as well as County Legislator Catherine Borgia (D-Ossining) and Buchanan Trustee Duane Jackson who is running for county legislator in District 1, according to a news release.
“The gratifying and enthusiastic show of support from Peekskill’s businesses and residents and our neighbors and friends from across Westchester is energizing our campaign," said Foster in the press release. "Our proven leadership and clear vision is paying off. Peekskill is visibly on the move towards being the Hudson Valley regional hub for business, families, dining, entertainment, recreation and the arts. We want to keep the momentum going.”
New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson, who is the Democratic candidate for county executive, was also in attendance, according to the release. PDCC Chair Marina Ciotti said she was "pleased by the wonderful turnout of party leaders" including Chairman Ken Jenkins of the county Board of Legislators, District 4 County Legislator Mike Kaplowitz, and others from around Westchester County, according to the release.
“We’re all Democrats. We’re always going to be there for each other," Ciotti said in the release. "People all across Westchester and Putnam are seeing the change in Peekskill and as a result we have a growing fan base of friends and supporters. We are thrilled with their pledges of support this November as we elect Democrats in Peekskill, Cortlandt and all across Westchester.”
