Police Search For Driver Who Fled On Foot After Route 9 Chase

BUCHANAN, N. Y. -- Authorities are searching for a man who led Croton police on a wild pursuit Wednesday night before purposely crashing his car, then taking off on foot, according to a report from News 12.

It all started about 8:30 p.m. when Croton police tried to pull over an SUV for a routine traffic stop along Route 9 (Albany Post Road) in Buchanan. Instead of stopping, the driver sped off, then slammed on his brakes causing a crash, said News 12.

No injuries were reported, but police are still looking for the man, who jumped out of the car while it was moving, according to News 12 Hudson.
