Peekskill Teacher's Status Unclear Following Fine For Altering Test Scores

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill School District isn't sure if the teacher who was fined half of her annual salary for altering answers on a Regents exam will return to the classroom, according to 

Allison Risoli was found guilty on four counts by a hearing officer including two counts of changing the Regents exam grades of two students and was fined $62,293.50.

The district said following the fine that Risoli was allowed to return to the classroom if she so chose, but the district has not yet heard from her regarding her intentions, reported. 

Risoli also faces criminal charges for her actions. The trial is scheduled to begin on Oct. 20, said.
