Peekskill Man Charged In Hit-Run Crash That Leaves Bicyclist Injured

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - A suspect has been arrested in connected with a hit-and-run crash in Peekskill early Sunday morning that has left a bicyclist in critical condition, according to News 12.

Police say they found a Honda Accord owned by 37-year-old Peekskill resident Gersun Abregu Sunday night and, after determining he cleaned the vehicle in an effort to destroy evidence, charged him with tampering with physical evidence, the report said.

The victim in the incident, which occurred on Route 9A (Albany Post Road) at around 9 a.m., was rushed to Westchester Medical Center, according to the report.

Route 9A was temporarily shut down following the crash.
