PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Michael C. Varella, a lifelong Peekskill resident, died July 14. He was 53.
Varella was born July 6, 1960, to Leonard and Dolores (Chase) Varella.
Varella is survived by his parents; brother, Leonard Jr. (Barbara); sister-in-law, Rosa; nieces and nephews; a great-niece; two great-nephews; several aunts, uncles; and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Danny.
Calling hours are Thursday, July 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill, where a service will be offered at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Puppies Behind Bars, 263 W. 68th St., 4th Flr., New York, NY 10018, a program to train service dogs for wounded veterans.
