Mario Iaconangelo, 78, Of Peekskill, Chef, Sorrento’s Restaurant

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Mario Iaconangelo of Peekskill died Nov. 17. He was 78.

Iaconangelo was born Feb. 20, 1936, in Naples, Italy, to Fiorenzo and Maria Maddalena Neri Iaconangelo. For many years, he was a chef at Sorrento's Restaurant in Peekskill. He worked at several other area restaurants as well.

Iaconangelo is survived by his sister, Yolanda Carano of Boynton Beach, Fla.; brother, Armando (Italia) Iaconangelo of Cold Spring; many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Corinne Iaconangelo; siblings in Italy, Aldo, Salvatore and Flora.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Assumption Church. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
