PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The City of Peekskill has rescinded the winter parking weather alert that was in effect from 8 p.m. on Monday due to a the winter storm.
All overnight parking from 8 p.m. Monday night to 8 a.m. Tuesday morning on non-alternate side streets was prohibited. Overnight parking was only permitted on the streets where alternate side of the street parking is allowed.
Vehicles found in violation of such ordinances will be towed at the owners expense and fined $50. Motorists are asked to cooperate to ensure that snow removal operations can be completed without hindrance from illegally parked vehicles.
City officials stressed that the weather alerts are rescinded only once snow removal operations are completed and not immediately at the conclusion of the storm.
