Friday, July 13
"Dark Horse": 7:30 p.m. Writer and director Todd Solondz examines the irretrievability of youth and the mercilessness of time passing with this melancholy and idiosyncratic comedy. General admission is $9. Paramount Center for the Arts, 1008 Brown St.
Chad McLoughlin Trio: 7:30-10:30 p.m. McLoughlin has an extensive list of album credits in a diversity of styles and genres. His trio is working on a new album of original music that is due to be released this year. Admission: $10. BeanRunner Cafe, 201 S. Division St.
Gil Parris Band: 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Parris has recorded and toured both as a solo artist and sideman with major artists such as Dr. John; Paul Shaffer; Blood, Sweat & Tears; David Mann; Billy Vera; and Bobby Caldwell, to name a few. Matt Turk: 6-9 p.m. The local musician will perform a free live set in the outdoor beer garden for patrons. Birdsall House, 970 Main St.

Peekskill Farmers Market: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendors will sell a variety of foods, including fresh produce, locally made honey, fresh meat and seafood. Bank Street.
Ecuadorean Film Showcase: Noon. Join some of the most prestigious filmmakers from Ecuador as they emerge into the Ecuadorean film industry. The two movies to be featured are Ancestral Fashion at noon and With My Heart in Yambo at 3 p.m. Both films have English subtitles. Paramount Center for the Arts, 1008 Brown St.
Native Soul: 7:30-10:30 p.m. Native Soul is a band that brings together the separate-but-equal talents of four very talented artists. Admission is $10. BeanRunner Cafe, 201 S. Division St.
Back to the Garden 1969: 9:30 p.m. A tribute to the great variety of classic music sounds associated with Woodstock, including acoustic and electric rock, acid rock, folk music, and soul. Admission is a $15 entertainment fee or $10 with a dinner entree. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St.

Peekskill Attic Treasures: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Flea market vendors will sell such items as video games, music, footwear and purses. Bank Street.
Students Open Mic Night: 6-8 p.m. A showcase for talented musicians and singers age 17 and under. Bring your guitar, bass, sax, flute or whatever instrument you play. The venue has a drum kit, keyboard, guitar and bass amps, and microphones. Free admission. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St.
Fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes: 4-6 p.m. The Andrew Craig Quartet performs for the benefit of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Craig is a 2010 Billboard and Unisong International Songwriting Contest winner for the jazz/blues category and was featured on 100.7 WHUD on Catherine Michaels' show. Tickets may be purchased online.
