Water Restored To Downtown Peekskill After 13-Hour Repair

PEEKSKILL, N. Y. -- Water service has been restored in downtown Peekskill following a water main break and repair that became more complicated when crews hit a gas line while trying to fix water service near the North Division Street and Central Avenue intersection, according to News 12 Westchester.

A water main break and repair shut off water to the area near the intersection of North Division Street and Central Avenue for at least 13 hours, News 12 Westchester reported.

Authorities said no flooding was reported, and there was no danger to the area from the gas line accident, but water was off to the area for at least 13 hours, News 12 Westchester reported

Officials said the cause of the water main break likely was caused by age, while the gas line was incorrectly marked, News 12 Westchester said.
