Update, 6:30 p.m. - Route 9A was reopened after the crash was cleared up, police said.
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A collision between a motorcycle and a passenger van has shut down Route 9A from Welcher Avenue to the Buchanan border in Peekskill.
The motorcyclist was traveling southbound on the highway and the van was traveling northbound, according to Peekskill Police Det. Ray Henderlong. The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m.
"The gentlemen on the motorcycle was a Peekskill resident and he was transported to the Westchester Medical Center by Peekskill EMS," Henderlong said.
Henderlong said he was not yet aware of what injuries the motorcyclist suffered but said the van driver was not taken to the hospital.
