Residence Fire Closes Main Street in Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – A house fire Saturday evening on Main Street temporarily closed the road.

"It's under control at this time and it appears there were no injuries," said Peekskill police Detective Ray Henderlong, the department spokesman.

The fire at 1409 Main St. was under control about 8:30 p.m. The road was still closed after 9 p.m. but was expected to reopen soon.

The building was a multilevel residential house.
