Report: New York State Sues Nu Way Oil Of Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – New York State has filed a lawsuit against a Peekskill-based oil company and its managers after the company allegedly failed to deliver $80,000 in fuel and services that customers pre-paid for, the state attorney general announced Tuesday, according to Bloomberg News.

The Nu Way Fuel & Service, which is apparently unlicensed, is managed by a father and son, the report said.  A lawyer for Nu Way reportedly said the company was working with the attorney general and striving to reimburse all customers, Bloomberg News reported.

Nu Way delivered as little as 15 gallons of heating oil last winder to customers who had pre-paid for much more and it performed only part of the burner-service work it was paid to do, the report said.

The attorney general reportedly said that more than 70 complaints were filed against Nu Way and 28 customers have brought lawsuits, according to Bloomberg News.
