PEEKSKILL, N.Y. City police are investigating an attempted burglary at a Peekskill convenience store early Tuesday morning.
An unknown person or group of people attempted to break into the Stop and Go Deli Express located at 730 South St. at approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to Peekskill Police Spokesperson Lt. Eric Johansen.
They didnt get in, Johansen said. They smashed a window but were not able to get inside.
Westchester County Department of Public Safety assisted city police in the investigation, Johansen said. Evidence of a broken front glass door could still be seen at noon Tuesday as county officers investigated the crime scene.

Arrests reported by Peekskill Police for the past week:
- Jennifer Galliard, 39, of Peekskill was arrested Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, a misdemeanor, on Winchester Avenue. Police said she was charged following an investigation into a party at her home on Dec. 31, where an underage guest was served alcohol. During the investigation, police identified numerous underage individuals who attended the party and who were served alcoholic beverages by Galliard, police reports said. Galliard was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in city court on Feb. 16.
- Steven Martin, 29, of Peekskill was arrested on Feb. 3 at 10:45 p.m. and charged with unlicensed automobile operation and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, on Diven Street. Martin was stopped for a vehicle and traffic offense and found that his license had been suspended 11 times, police reports said. He was taken into custody and police said he was found in possession of an ecstasy tablet. Martin was held for arraignment in city court without bail.
- Albert Jackson, 48, of Peekskill was arrested Feb. 5 at 10:50 a.m. and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and obstruction of governmental administration, both misdemeanors, and disorderly conduct, a violation, on Park Street.
- Police said officers responded to a domestic dispute that involved Jackson, who was intoxicated. Jackson refused to allow officers inside his home to investigate the situation and tried to shove officers outside to close his door, according to police reports. A police officer was able to prevent Jackson from closing his door with his police baton, however, Jackson grabbed the baton and bent it, police said. Officers eventually got into the house and arrested Jackson. He was held on arraignment in city court without bail.
