Peekskill Veterans Spar About City Hall Flag Placement

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A disabled Vietnam veteran and members of American Legion Post 274 in Peekskill clashed at a recent council meeting regarding whether the city was properly flying the American Flag at City Hall, according to a story at theexaminernews.com.

George Ondek, a past commander of the Disabled American Veterans, said the city was violating a federal code that says the American Flag should be flown in the center and above all other flags, the story said.

Bob Boddie, a Vietnam veteran and commander of Post 274, said the code was a guideline and not binding, the story said. 

Peekskill officials agreed with Boddie that the city was in compliance with the code, the story said.
