PEEKSKILL, N.Y. An city sanitation worker was injured Friday morning in an accident that temporarily closed the 900 block of Main Street and the 10 block of North Division Street. Both roads were reopened by 4 p.m.
A Peekskill sanitation worker fell from a truck about 10:10 a.m., said Peekskill police Lt. Eric Johansen.
"The employee was transported to Westchester Medical Center with serious head injuries," Johansen said.
The name of the injured employee has not yet been released, he said.
The intersection of Main and North Division streets will be closed for several hours while city officials investigate the accident but should be open again by 3 p.m., Johansen said.
The Daily Peekskill reader Marlene Ball posted a photo of the accident scene on her Facebook page shortly after it happened.
