PEEKSKILL, N.Y. Three people were charged Tuesday after city police raided a South Division Street apartment following an investigation into the sale of crack cocaine from the address.
Peekskill police Sgt. Joe Gomez, Detective Anthony Malfitano and Officer Joe McGann entered the second-floor apartment at 1228 S. Division St. at 5:15 p.m. with a search warrant and found 20 grams of crack and 15 bags of the illegal narcotic PCP, which were all packaged for sale, police said.
Juanita Robinson, 53, of Peekskill was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, class B and C felonies, respectively. She also was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, as two teenage children were found in the residence.
Two other people in the apartment were also charged, after crack cocaine and a smoking device were found near them, police said. James Wright, 58, of Queens and Regina Eversley, 57, of Peekskill were each charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
Robinson was held for arraignment in City Court on Wednesday. Wright and Eversley were released on their own recognizance and are due Thursday in City Court.
