PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- A cooling center will be open at the neighborhood center on Nelson Avenue on from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday.
Temperatures in Peekskill are expected to be near 96 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Heat index values could go as high as 100 degrees. Both heat and air-quality advisories have been issued for the area.
