PEEKSKILL -- The city has begun a citywide hydrant flushing program that will be in effect through Wednesday.
Flushing will begin after midnight each evening and will continue through the early morning hours.
Residents are advised to watch for discolored water while using water for food preparation, laundry or other water-sensitive processes.
City residents are being asked to flush cold water faucets for approximately 15 minutes or until the water clears. Persistent problems should be reported to the water department at (914) 734-4150 by early afternoon.
