PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Raymond S. Edge, a lifelong resident of Peekskill, died Dec. 4. He was 90.He was born Jul. 6, 1921 to the late Samuel and Caroline Hayes Edge. During World War II, Edge served in the US Army, from 1939 to 1945. On Jun. 3, 1948, he married Evelyn Gordineer in Peekskill.Edge worked for over 30 years as a deliveryman for Peterson Auto Parts in Peekskill. He was a member of the Peekskill VFW Post and an avid golfer and bowler.Raymond is survived by his son Raymond S. (Josephine) Edge, Jr. of Peekskill, his daughter Caroline McCloskey of Peekskill, his sister Geraldine Matthews of Mahopac, N.Y., eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Edge was predeceased by his wife Evelyn on March 16, 2000.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the E.O. Curry Funeral Home in Peekskill. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by interment and military honors at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor.
