Peekskill's Clark Dies at 93

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. - Ellen L. Clark, a longtime Peekskill resident, died Dec. 17. She was 93. 

Born Sept. 9, 1918, she was the daughter of Nelson and Harrich Plath. On Oct. 12, 1944, she married Edwin M. Clark at the Naval Air Station in Quonset, R.I.

For more than 10 years, Clark worked at Reader's Digest in Pleasantville until retiring. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Peekskill. An active volunteer for Peekskill Museum, Clark has been honored there for her service. She was also a member of the Republican Party of Peekskill.

She is survived by her son Warren "Skip" Clark, her daughter Christine (Russ) Kavana, her brothers John Plath, James Plath and Richard Plath, her sisters Mary Plath, Pat Morrow and Joan Flatey, seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday at E. O. Curry Funeral Home in Peekskill. A funeral service will immediately follow at noon at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor.
