Peekskill Recreation Summer Camp Starts June 25

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – As the school year winds down, the city recreation department is registering children for the 2012 Peekskill Day Camp.

The first session will be held from June 25 to July 13 and the second will run from July 16 to Aug. 3. The camp runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is open to children who are 3-years-old and toilet trained to children entering sixth grade.

Parents must complete the camp application, which can be found on the city's website, and return it to the recreation office in Depew Park with payment and their child's current immunization record. Applicants are encouraged to sign up early to ensure a spot.

Early applicants who are city residents and register on or before June 1 for session 1, or June 29 for session 2 will pay $245 for the first child and $240 and $215 for the second and third.

Regular rates for registration after those dates are $270, $265 and $240 for first, second and third children. Non-residents can register after May 27 and will pay $490, $500, and $440 for their first, second and third children.

Registrations will not be accepted from households carrying a balance from the previous year, which must be paid in full before being allowed to register.

Campers are expected to bring a lunch, which will not be refrigerated at the camp.

A limited number of reduced fee scholarships will also be available.  Call the recreation office at (914) 734-7275 for more information.
