PEEKSKILL, N.Y. Lucille Rita (Heady) Johnson of Peekskill, died April 20. She was 93.
She was born July 2, 1918 in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Joseph and Philomena Amarosa Virgilio. In 1939, she married Joseph Heady at Assumption Church in Peekskill. Johnson worked for Grossman's in Peekskill. She also worked at Reader's Digest in the mail department.
Johnson is survived by a daughter, Doris Milanese, of Yorktown; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Heady; a grandson, Richard Guy Milanese; two sisters, Matilda and Virginia; and three brothers, Ray, Edward and Arnold.
Visitation is Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Assumption Church. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
