Eric Wiggins, president and CEO of Greater Hudson Bank, says his bank is making a long-term commitment to the county. While larger banks are shutting down branches, Greater Hudson has been planning to carefully expand in New York.
A large share of our growth came from Westchester County, he said, pointing to the White Plains branch. We can service businesses and individuals with technology and personalized service.
Wiggins credits the White Plains staff and proximity to New York City with the branchs success. A former resident of Peekskill and White Plains, Wiggins said the county has played a large role in my life. I saw White Plains grow from not even having a movie theater to the City Center being built and rejuvenation throughout the city.
According to Wiggins, Greater Hudsons employees also help make it unique in todays banking market.
Their friendly and professional manner make the difference, he said. We had open houses and at each one, customers made it a point of complimenting the staff and the bank.
Wiggins said Greater Hudson also makes it easy to change banks with a switch kit that takes customers through the process step by step, and Greater Hudson is one of the banks that has been willing to lend in this new economy.
These days Wiggins says bigger is not always better. The large banks often do not let small business owners actually deal with those that are making the decisions. At Greater Hudson, many of those seeking loans actually speak with Wiggins himself.
Wiggins brings nearly a quarter of a century of banking experience to Greater Hudson. A graduate of Pace University, he has worked in many areas of banking from teller and branch positions to administration and lending.
He says, We have been able to lend to these businesses as others have pulled back from the market. I encourage anyone to come in and see for themselves.
