The wine store, at 50 Hudson Ave. is gearing up for New Year's Eve, when many people pop in looking for the perfect sparkling wine to cap off their 2014.

"Sparkling wine is always big," Steven Zwick, owner of Dylan's, said. "People also like champagne or Prosecco."

Mumm Napa Sparkling Wine has proven popular among this year's picks. "It's pretty cool," Zwick said. "We usually sell a lot of that around the holidays."

Zwick said some people prefer regular wine for the festive season, especially if they are having a large dinner party. Creme de Cassis or Chambord liqueur are also popular purchases as "they're simple and easy to mix drinks with," he said.

Business tends to pick up at Dylan's starting in November with New Years Eve among the store's busiest days as people look for that last minute bottle of bubbly.

Zwick said Peekskill residents are always interested in new things, ideally in the $20 or below category.

For that reason, wines from South Africa and Romania have become popular with vintages from California always in style.

As for what Zwick will be drinking come Dec. 31? He likes Cremant sparkling wine from Alsace, France which is packed with zesty citrus fruit.

And as for a New Year's resolution?  "I hope to lose weight like everybody else," he said.
