PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Peekskill shoppers weren't taking any chances in the calm before Monday's snowstorm.

Shoppers lined up at La Placita Market at 1049 Park St. to get last-minute supplies in case they were snowed in. The Peekskill City School District was closed Monday, along with the nutrition center and senior citizen programs.
