Just In Time For Holidays, Peekskill Library Sells New Children's Book

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Just in time for holiday gift-giving, Peekskill's Field Library is selling new children’s books at non-Grinch-like prices, says librarian Sally Bentley.

Titles include longtime favorites as well as newly released fiction and picture books.

Hardcovers are $4, while paperbacks are $1 to $2 apiece.

The books were donated by individuals and publishers and will, Bentley said, “make great gifts for children of all ages.”

The sale is going on now and runs through Friday, Dec. 23.

Gently used children's books are also for sale at the Field's main facility as well as at its bookstore at 934 South St., Bentley said.

Proceeds from the sale will go to support library programming, Bentley said.

The Field Library is located at 4 Nelson Ave., across the street from City Hall.

The Children's Room is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays. It stays open until 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, but closes earlier, at 5 p.m. on Fridays. Its weekend hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

The library will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 24; Sunday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Dec. 26.
