CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. -- Voting is closed but many Westchester residents and those at Hudson Valley Hospital Center are hoping the facility is named the most beautiful in the country.
Hudson Valley Hospital Center was recently nominated as a contender for the 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the country in a contest organized by healthcare provider Soliant Health. The contest is in its fifth year and the winners are set to be announced on July 1, according to the group's website.
"We were inspired to create this list by recent data that found 'happy hospitals make happy patients,'" said David Alexander, president of Soliant Health, in a press release. "As a provider of healthcare professionals for hospitals, we recognize that staff morale and attention to patients' needs are critical to patients' happiness, but the survey also showed that another factor in satisfaction was how the hospital actually looked."
Last year, Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. won the award after the contest received nearly 170,000 votes. Soliant Health is "one of the largest healthcare staffing companies in the US and connects hospitals and healthcare providers with highly qualified, full- or part-time healthcare professionals in a variety of specialized disciplines," according to the group's website.
