The Go Peekskill effort, as the van is called, is a collaboration involving business owners John Sharp of Birdsall House and Gleason's, Sunny Cover of Peekskill Coffee House, Patrick Conlon of Speakeasy Tattoo, Steve Zwick of Dylan's Wine Cellar, Chuck McGreal of Quiet Man and Louis Lanza of The Hudson Room.
The van will run on Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. There is no charge for the first month; after that riders will be asked to buy a $2 token, which will be redeemable on products/services at the participating businesses.
It's all part of an effort to revitalize the downtown area and, as Lanza says, "create a good vibe in this neck of the woods."
You can catch the shuttle starting at Dylan's Wine Cellar, 50 Hudson Ave., 914-930-8003. Go to GoPeekskill.com for more information. You'll also find the van on Facebook and Twitter, hashtag #GoPeekskill.
